E. Reid Gilbert is Associate Professor Emeritus, Ohio State University. His Phd. in Asian Theatre includes two Fulbright awards. He is also the author of Trickster Jack, a collection of tales about the Appalachian trickster, Jack; What Matters, a collection of 114 poems; Shall We Gather at the River; a Romeo/Juliet novel set in the Virginia mountains in 1875 (which has been written into a screen play entitled Sapling Ridge); The Twelve Houses of My Childhood; and Valley Studio: More Than a Place. His short theatre scripts are It’s a Long Way, The Earplug, Asides, Smeraldina's Inn. His full length stage scripts are Twixt Heaven and Hell, No Admittance, Coming of Age.
